O.C.Harper (Red Bed) Map
$39.99
The Red Bed map was completed in October 1924, by geologist O.C. “Kip” Harper. The isopach map is of Triassic red beds and was based on five wells, scattered outcrops, and water wells from ranches. This was probably the first map that showed a thinning of red beds over a buried positive feature, the Central Basin Platform. In the following year, 1925, several successful wildcat wells were drilled along the flanks of the trend. These discoveries produced large volumes of West Texas intermediate crude from Permian carbonates.
