Building Bots

Fall 2025 Building Bots – Robotics & Engineering Fun Lab

Registration for Fall 2025 programs will open to Petroleum Museum Members on Monday, July 14, and to the general public on Wednesday, July 16. To support the Museum and receive member benefits including early registration, free admission, members-only receptions, and discounts in the Museum Store, CLICK HERE.

Our Building Bots classes are the perfect blend of fun and foundational learning for students in grades K–8. These hands-on sessions nurture critical thinking, spark creativity, and build real-world problem-solving skills through engaging engineering challenges and exciting robotics projects.

Each class introduces a fresh set of activities and curriculum designed to keep students inspired, challenged, and curious all semester long. Whether your child is just starting to explore how things work or is ready to take on more advanced projects, we have the right tools to support their learning journey.

We tailor our tech tools and activities to match your child’s age and skill level:

  • Grades K–2: Students begin their robotics journey with intuitive, playful tools like LEGO SPIKE Essential, Spheros, and Osmos. These platforms focus on basic coding concepts, creativity, and hands-on learning that builds confidence and curiosity.
  • Grades 3–8: Older students dive deeper into the world of robotics with advanced equipment including LEGO SPIKE Prime, Osmos, Ozobots, and Tello Drones. These tools challenge students to design, build, and code their own creations while exploring principles of engineering, logic, and innovation.

From programming robots to go through obstacle courses to designing custom solutions for real-world problems, students are encouraged to imagine, invent, and explore. Cost is $25 per session for Museum Members and $30 per session for Non-Members.  Pre-registration is required.

Kindergarten – 2nd Grade (First Tuesdays) from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
