Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday

The Petroleum Museum invites you to join us in celebrating America’s 250th Birthday on Saturday, June 27th with a day of family-friendly activities and free admission to the Museum. The festivities will begin at sunrise on the Museum grounds with the inflation of ExxonMobil’s Enchanted Horizon hot air balloon. The Museum will open early at 8:00 a.m. Activities for children and families will take place throughout the day, featuring hands-on learning stations and interactive experiences hosted by community partners.

Event Schedule
• Sunrise – ExxonMobil’s Enchanted Horizon hot air balloon inflation
• 8:00 a.m. – Petroleum Museum opens
• 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Children’s activities & educational stations
• 5:00 p.m. – Museum closes

The celebration is presented in partnership with the City of Midland, ExxonMobil, Midland College Geology Department, Midland ISD CTE, Museum of the Southwest, Sibley Nature Center, and Texas Space Coalition.

The event is absolutely free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to arrive early to experience the hot air balloon inflation and enjoy a fun day of activities celebrating America’s 250th Birthday. Food and beverage trucks will also be available on-site throughout the event.
